I am sorry for skipping last week, but we were traveling to Dublin for St. Patrick’s Day and we were really busy. My brother told me that before I headed to Ireland for the St Patrick’s Day Parade to not use my surname in Dublin as people there hated Nelson, the hero of the English. I said, “but we’re Swedish Nelson’s, not English.” He said it didn’t matter that they blew up Nelson’s statue in Dublin and they don’t ask you your ancestry after your surname. Later in the trip, we headed to London, where I saw the celebrated statue in London’s Trafalgar Square.
Everyone in Dublin was nice, no one asked me my surname, and a young police officer born after the 1966 bombing, told me the story about the statue and the spire. However, I did inquire after mentioning that I was Swedish-American.
KING LOUIS III OF FRANCE HAD A GREAT FUTURE, HIS GREAT-GREAT-GRANDFATHER WAS CHARLEMAGNE, BUT THEN…
Louis III was King of West Francia (a precursor to the Kingdom of France) from 879 until his death in 882. He succeeded his father and ruled over West Francia in tandem with his brother Carloman II.
Louis III, at the time of his great successes, was very young, at a mere 16 to 17 years of age. His colorful victories against the Vikings entertained the public, and he was loved by most of the Francian people. he was widely celebrated, and he was the most popular person in the realm.
Louis III was chasing after a girl, who was retreating to her father’s house, when he hit his head on the lintel of a low door and fell, fracturing his skull and killing him instantly. Because Louis III had no children, his brother Carloman II became the sole king. Louis and Carloman above.
MAIL ORDER BRIDES ARE NOT NEW TO AMERICA
You’ve probably heard about mail-order brides. But that kind of thing has been happening since well before the dawn of the internet — even before there was a proper postal service. What if we told you that this bizarre industry dates back several centuries? Yes, really. And mail-order brides were pretty essential to the foundation of the United States.

I thought it was interesting to see by the state where was their nation of origin. The map above excludes Mexico, which would be most folks likely answer to the question, but what about second place? The map is small, so I listed the states below for easier reading.
