I am not an easy person to impress however, Dancestors Genealogy certainly wowed me. I had been looking for a 1/2 sibling for 10 years and was running into a lot of dead ends. I was about to give up, when someone recommended Dancestors, based on their own experiences.
They completed the research and provided a written dissertation with 100% proof of their findings and, it was all done in very short order.
I cold called my 1/2 sibling and we are planning to meet in early spring. We are both very excited and have already spoken on the phone a number of times. Very professional and efficient service.

Dan and his team have been amazing. While others genealogists quoted the work to be done for thousands of dollars, he executed and obtained the necessary information in a fraction of the time and cost. He has been helpful, thorough, prompt, and most importantly very transparent. I will definitely recommend him again to anyone needing to uncover gaps in their family tree. Bravo!!!

My wife and I have always loved the PBS show "Finding your Roots".
Her sister did a research project on Ancestory as a Christmas present for the family several years ago. It was very good as far as it went, but she wanted a deeper dive. That is when I found Dan at Dancestors. It was a huge plus for me that he was local to the DFW area. After our initial in person meeting and giving the team everything my SIL had done they got to work. The project was super involved as they did a deep dive into my wife's family history. To be honest the project took longer and was more expensive than I expected, but in the end the result was worth every cent! Dan is the ultimate professional. He even come out to the house to goo through the research with us before we signed off on the final product. Did his best Henry Louis Gates :). My wife loved it! We are passing out the copies of the finished book to the family as a surprise Christmas gift.

I kept hitting a dead-end while trying to research my maternal grandparents. Dancestors made a path out of that dead-end. They located information I was not even close to finding. I highly recommend especially for those of us trying to locate information out of Mississippi and you are African-American.

We had Dan research our family's genealogy and identify many old family images that had been collected over the decades. Dan has been able to uncover a wealth of information that I would never have found on my own, and piece this information together telling our family story going back hundreds of years. They have also been able to help me connect with long lost relatives, which has been an unexpected bonus. Dan and his family business ended up producing two beautiful family legacy books (one for my father's side and one for my mother's side), we couldn't be happier with Dancestor's genealogy.

They were also in contact with the publisher, on my behalf, and gave me timelines when needed. Pricing was accurate and up-front. I worked with Dan for close to a year on our project. What I thought Dan was very good at was finding information, pulling records and staying in constant communication. The project in our case was 50% Argentina and Europe and 50% USA and he was able to navigate the international aspects very well with the help of resources. I was thrilled with the end product and his collaboration along the way. His team members that he’ll research also are very good and conducted interviews with certain unknown relatives of mine. For anyone interested in their geneology, I would recommend working with Dan on it.

I just recently received my report from the team at Dancestors. I've been researching my family tree for 30 years and was still left with three mystery great grandparents. Family lore and research on available data had not resulted in any corresponding matches in DNA databases, so help was requested to determine my great-great grandmother's parents.The research report was generated using available DNA matches and significant backup and cross-check with other user generated family trees and available online documentation. The report was both detailed and persuasive and fully met my desires. Some discrepancies with existing records were carefully explained, both to describe why certain individuals were eliminated as well as to further bolster the case for final names selected. Due to extra time needed to refine the solution, the communication of report status and the options were carefully explained, and although more expensive was well worth the additional effort and expense.

Dan and his team went beyond my expectations. He researched both of my maternal and paternal family trees extensively. The book he created for us was absolutely incredible - the perfect gift....my parents were so happy! Information gathered supported family history and helped clarify some gaps in the family tree. Commentary was offered to address some of the concerns I had with the probability of my ancestors living in Canada and New York. It was fun to discuss other possibilities because of the history of the time period and what people were likely to do during the early 1800s along the Canada/US border after the War of 1812. Even though no new information came to light, Dancestors Genealogy helped clarify and confirm what our family understood to be the truth of our family's migration patterns after the Revolutionary War to the 1840s.

There's a lot of rabbit trails to go down on your own so that's why it's important to hire a professional to help navigate through the junk. He's a tremendous resource and should be your go-to for a neat gift that will last for generations.

I met Dan Nelson a few years back when I saw a genealogy book he’d put together for a good friend of mine. I was so blown away by the thoroughness and details he’d captured that I had to have one. Dan worked closely with me to create a family history book of both sides of my parents. The books span multiple generations and bring tears to my eyes each time I look At them. Having read many books and having had a fascination about the Salem Witch Trials of the 1600s, you can’t imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to learn that my ninth great grandmother, Rebekah Ames was actually convicted and imprisoned at these very trials. I highly recommend Dan Nelson and his Dancestor books for everyone. Dan was amazing! He is so personable! Its like he becomes your best friend. He put up with a lot of my family not responding because we thought each other would respond to his questions. Anyway he proceeded to go above and beyond and went back into the 1500’s! That is crazy and more than we could have imagined. We sure learned alot! He made us big books filled with so much information. He puts his heart and sole into learning about your family. Its funny because he and his wife who helps him learn all about your family so when you talk to him to answer his questions he already knows who is who. Its like he is a family member. You will learn so much about your relatives, ones you know and ones you don’tThis is so worth the money. Get everyone to chip in to pay for it. If i could give 10 stars I would.My sister and brother were involved to and both are equally happy. They are just so busy im afraid they wont have time to give their reviews so just add 2 more 5stars for them.

Dancestors did a fantastic job of going back through our family's lineage all the way to George Washington times! He found amazing photos, remarkable notes and letters that our ancestors had written. I never had a huge interest in genealogy until I saw what Dancestors can do. Top notch!

Dan really cares about helping you record your family history so that it’s not lost. A member of my family bought 500 acres of land from William Penn. Later, his son inherited the land and built a grist mill on the West Bank of the Chester River in 1704. The mill still stands today!

The results of their work far exceeded my expectations. They submitted a very detailed report and found exactly the familial lineage I requested in less than a week. I had very little knowledge to offer them in their search but that didn't seem to matter. I'm in awe. Thank you Dan and Christy!
